Final Blog

Final Science blog

So far middle school at WAAS has been fun, stressful, and the best place to learn. This is going to be the final blog that I do for 6th grade! I can't even believe that the school year is already over. I went by so fast! Mrs.Giacommelli is the best teacher I have ever had. I am not trying to be nice, I am just stating the truth! She looks out for us and she really cares. Especially in Science Olympiad she is a great support. All the teachers are nice too, they all care and they devote most a lot of time to planning, creating activities, and doing all the other things that they have to do.

Defy Gravity

As you might see, other kids are putting their experience about defy gravity here. Well, I did not go but I have been there before like 5 times already. It is a place where trampolines are everywhere! You can jump all over the place, I bet it was fun when my school went there though.

Science this year

This year has been great because we did a lot of fun labs, and we did a lot of fun activities. This year was a little unique because we split the year into doing chemistry in the beginning and physics in the end. The top to labs that I liked was the water displacement lab and the burning sticks with chemicals lab (I have no clue what it was called). The displacement lab was about finding the displacement of an irregular shaped object. This object was Kyler,  and we put him a bucket off water in a garbage tub. This lab was fun because we went outside. Another good lab was burning popsicle sticks with different elements on it. Thus lab was really cool. I liked chemistry better than physics because we did cooler lab and we did a lot of fun activities. I have learned a lot this year it has been great. I really like learning. I learned a mix between physics and chemistry. My expectations have changed a lot so far, I thought we would be in a lower level of learning. I am looking forward to learning more and learning about earth and the environment. I could improve my grades and m study habits. This will help getting my grades up. My goals are to improve and tune everything up.

Weekly blog

Monday: Today was a good day, we took our quiz and we worked a little bit on our study guide. I think that playing Kahoot was really fun.  The science olympiad and the math counts people had to take the quiz today. I think that that quiz was a little hard but there was one question were it got a little confusing. I hope that I get a good grade!

Tuesday:Today I was really tired and it was sort of a really slow day. We took notes and Mrs.G showed a us a demonstration. We took our last set of notes. Then Mrs.G showed a cool demonstration about reflection and refraction. That was all we did today.

Wednesday: Today we took the wave test. The whole sequence was the same except that we are not going to be graded on it. Mrs.G was kind enough to do this because we have finals next week and we haven't had enough time to do it. I think that this was a very good review and that was all we did today.

Thursday: Today we had a hardcore review. We did 16 Kahoot questions and Mrs.G had the board covered with EVERYTHING. Today was a good day to review, we did a lot and I feel like it really helped me. I am really tired but I am going to get plenty of sleep over the weekend.

Friday: Today all we did was review and we finished our blog, Mrs.G wasn't here but Mrs.Trainer was so she asked us questions and it was good. That was all we really did.

Improvements: I can improve on remembering the terms and my study habits.

Weekly blog(5/4-5/8)

Monday: Today we got right into thinking about waves. We did different thing instead of our normal science starter.  We went onto a site called kahoot. Mrs.G said that that is what we are going to do from now on. I think that it is a very good site and it really fun. After having fun with that we went straight into taking notes on another section about Waves. So far learning about waves had been pretty interesting and fun. After that we got our first lab. This lab required a slinky so it was pretty interesting.Today was a great day.

Tuesday: Today was another great day. We started with Kahoot, which was fun and we also continued our lab. After the kahoot, we talked about waves and then we continued doing our lab. We took some notes on waves and then we wen straight into our lab. The lab questions were very easy because we had already finished half of it yesterday. I think today was pretty good.

Improvements: I could improve on making my handwriting greater and also taking better notes.
