Monday: Today was is the first blog day. This will be my first post of the year, we went to school last week but we didn't blog because we were getting into the swing of things. Last week was so busy and tiring we just didn't have time to do it, but we did have time to start our first lab and we did a bunch of really cool demonstrations. This year we will be studying earth and environmental. I think that it will be really interesting because we learn about how the earth works and how nature evolves around us. Last week we did a few demonstration mostly about chemistry but it was ok because they were very cool, Mrs.g demonstrated elephant toothpaste, potato launcher, making a cloud in a bottle, and a "flamethrower". All of these demonstrations were very cool. Today we continued our lab about baking cookies. But we had a twist to it, we changed the ingredients by adding or subtracting the amount of it. Friday was very fun because we had a person blindfolded in our group, that was the person who mixed all of the ingredients to make the cookie dough. That was really interesting. Today we took our first notes and we and we didn't get time to do anything else with the lab. We took notes on the first two slides and we talked a lot about the earth. We have a test on Friday. That is all we did today.
Tuesday: Today was a very fun day because we got to eat cookies! Today we recorded data and we talked about how the cookies turned out. In the beginning of class we did an awesome demonstration of precision and accuracy. Last year someone went up and wore a football helmet and Mrs.G threw a tennis ball at the apple which was on the persons head. This time she had people go up an shoot a nerf gun at a target and we marked where the person shot. This was a very fun demonstration. After that we got to eat the cookies and record the data. In my opinion the cookies with the extra eggs were horrible and it was very yucky.
Wednesday: We started off class today with our usual science starter. It was a review from the notes. Today we started a new lab about Oreos! I am in a group with my table, Emma,Sydney,Will,Maise,Keira, and Sebastian. Our lab was about the difference between double stuf Oreos and regular Oreos. In the beginning we just weighed each Oreo. We weighed the gaffer, and the white stuff inside the Oreo. My group managed to finished the first and second row of the data table. This lab has been pretty fun and interesting so far. My hypothesis is that the double stuf is the same as the regular Oreo.
Thursday: Today all we did was our graph on our Oreo lab. It was sort of confusing and boring because it wasn't really fun and it was confusing because when we did our averages we all got different answers so it was hard to get the graph right. I thought today was tiring and it was not fun at all. I am almost done with my graph, I just have to color it.
Friday: Today was testing day. This is our first test of the year. We are reviewing from last year. It was about science after and general science knowledge, the test was not that hard but it wasn't that easy. I hope the I get a good grade to start off the year. I really need an extra boost in the beginning of the year. That was all we did today.
Improvements: I need to improve on making my data tables and graphs more organized and neater. I thought that this week was ok.
